'Graystone' builds up sales
Madrid-based 6 Sales has licensed Sean Stone's directorial feature debut, supernatural horror pic "Graystone," to the U.K. (Revolver) and Japan (Fine Films). Beyond these key territories, the ghost story has closed Mexico (Cien Films), India (WEG India Pictures), Turkey (Medyavizyon) and Peru (Eurofilms). A U.S. deal with XLrator Media has been announced. Talks are on with Canuck distribs in Berlin. Inspired by true events, "Graystone" turns on a young trio of filmmakers exploring an abandoned asylum that is believed to be haunted. Cast includes Sean Stone, his father, helmer Oliver Stone, and Alexander Wraith. Pic is produced by Giulia Prenna at Mind the Gap Prods. and Headlong Entertainment's Kaila York. In a separate move, Marina Fuentes' 6 Sales has inked Japanese (Doma) and Latin American (Swen) rights to Spaniard helmer-scribe Mateo Gil's Western "Blackthorn." With these deals, "Blackthorn" is basically sold out, Fuentes said. Contact the Variety newsroom at news@variety.com
